Toyota coach Dante Silverio responded to comments made by Crispa team manager Danny Floro, who deplored the Tamaraws for what he described as rough house tactics.

Big Billy Robinson provided the muscle and delivered the key baskets last night as Filmanbank eliminated U-Tex, 103-96, to bag the fourth and last seat in the semifinals of the PBA All-Filipino Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.
In his usual role as the Bankers’ workhorse, the burly Robinson ruled the boards and pumped in 15 of his 32 points to spark a decisive fourth quarter splurge that buried the Wranglers for good.
Robinson teamed up with Jaime Mariano to send his team pulling away from a 76-76 tie after three quarters to a 94-87 lead which they padded to 11 points, 10-89, midway in the final frame.
Thus, Filmanbank, a lightweight team until the addition of Robinson and Adriano Papa, Jr., joined early qualifiers Toyota, Crispa and Tanduay in the semis which gets going tomorrow.
The opening matches pit Toyota against Filmanbank at 5:30 p.m. and Tanduay against Crispa at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Toyota coach Dante Silverio yesterday said his team does not resort to rough house tactics in order to win and added that “this is the last thing we will do in any game that the Toyota Tamaraws will play.”
Silverio’s statement was in answer to comments made by Danny Floro the other day in which the Crispa team manager deplored the “unwarranted violence” his team has been subjected to during the last Crispa-Toyota encounter which the Tamaraws won, 158-135.
“My team does not resort to rough house tactics and violence in order to win a game, much more are we disposed to and determined to hurt any of the competing players. This is the last thing we will do in any game that the Toyota Tamaraws will play,” Silverio said in his statement.
“We are not determined to hurt and we do not know how to hurt any player unlike what the Crispa team manager stated that his team is capable of doing. We shall always play fairly and in the spirit of sportsmanship.”
Silverio also said that Floro owes him and the Toyota team an apology “for his unkind and downright libelous statements.”
